Ben Jones-Bishop reckons he is happy just to be back playing rugby league after the on-loan Harlequins RL full-back returned to action last weekend.
Jones-Bishop grabbed a try on his comeback in the 36-12 defeat to Wigan, the same opponents against whom he fractured his skull back in April.
And the 21-year-old Leeds Rhinos full-back, who will be forced to wear a scrum-cap for the remainder of the season, admits he did fear the worst at first.
Jones-Bishop said: “When I banged my head I did not really know what had happened at first to be honest.
“I thought it was just a really bad headache.
“But it got a lot worse and then I got pins and needles all over my body.
“That was when I started worrying and obviously when you go to hospital you always start fearing the worst.
“Luckily for me the consultant said it had happened in a pretty safe part of the skull so it was just a case of rest.
“That was a massive relief and the last couple of weeks I have been able to get back to contact stuff which was great.”
On-loan for the season, Jones-Bishop was offered the chance to return to Leeds after the horror injury.
But the young star revealed that never really crossed his mind.
He added: “There was talk of me going back but I am in London for the season and I am happy to stay here.
“They are a really tight bunch of lads at this club and in many ways it is like a close family.
“So I was more than happy to do my rehab here, although I am pretty sure I will still be back at Leeds next year.
“My dream is to play for the Rhinos - I have had a season-ticket for them since I was a kid and that will always be my goal.”
