Croydon Amphibians U15 showed why they are regarded as one of the most promising youth teams in the South of England when they stormed to the top of the league.
At the third of four summer water polo tournaments, Amphibians thrashed Ealing 10-3, Enfield 5-0 and previous table-toppers Watford 6-0.
Goalscorers were Josh Capon (seven), Kevin Girrard (five), Tor Wheeler (four), Josh Hampton (two), Anthony Desousa (two) and Matt Brooks.
The defence was also impressive with Matthew Helps and Jo Maguocci marshalling matters in front of keeper Ashley Hinds.
Josh Cresswell and Jack Leonard also helped Croydon to secure their position at the top of the table.
Coach Cliffe Brooks said: “The team played well and showed the strength in depth they have to dominate games.
“But, with some tough games still to play, they need to remain focused to make sure they get the title their ability deserves.”
