Is your house lighting up your area with Christmas cheer?

Each year people around the world decorate their houses and flats with Christmas decorations, some look tacky, some look stylish and some just look plain odd.

If you have put in a lot of effort to your decorations this year then let us know.

We are looking for residents who have gone the extra mile with their Christmas decorations and are willing to send in pictures for the readers to see and get inspiration from.

Whether it is something as simple as sticking some legs out of the chimney or something as extreme as covering the entire house in coloured lights we want to see your pictures and hear your stories.

So if the festive period has plucked your heart strings and you have gone all National Lampoon’s Christmas Vaction then let us know at hmiller@london.newsquest.co.uk Please put your name, street and a little bit of information about your decorations and we will feature the best and worst of the borough.

• Got a great story for us? Let us know by email here, phone the newsdesk on 020 8330 9555 or leave a comment below.

I seem to be under the impression that I would be commiting an offence by putting up for display Christmas decorations etc as it may offend my Eastern neighbours?

The last couple of weeks world leaders have been attempting to agree on how to tackle world climate change. Meanwhile people in the western world cover their houses in all sorts electricity guzzling rubbish, and now you're offering these people their 15 minutes in the limelight ... hardly what I would call taking your social responsibility seriously!

Come on people, it's about good clean family fun, festive cheer, and making something beautiful in a otherwise dull and serious world. I'm so sick of the English humbug attitudes. Life is for living and enjoying oneself and being happy, not being sourpusses. Ones social responsibility lies more in being a happy nice person, not some dreary liberal who buys into this global warming cobblers set up to take more taxes from the workers so rich politicians can have these meetings, stay in luxurious palaces and hotels during these meetings, fly into Copenhagen from around the world in private jets, eat lobster, and swig caviar while telling the rest of us we should save the world...now who are the hypocrites? Merry Christmas!!!!!!

Sadly it depends on what type of neighbours you have as to whether you can enjoy Christmas.
I am not able to put lights up as they complain to the council about the "light" disturbance & then because they are private & I am a council tenant, I am "investigated" & that then goes on my record... Which is sucha shame, as although I am not a religious person, I celebrate the season of good will to all & the gathering together of family & friends & giving thanks for everything we have... It would be lovely if I could have some pretty lights outside too... But sadly its not to be :-(
..... I think for a couple of weeks every year, every house should have lights in the window to celebrate how we humans CAN come together as a race ... The Human Race ... & celebrate family & friends .......
