Children at Shrewsbury Lodge School in Esher enjoyed a number of end-of-term activities this month, including making gingerbread houses, Victorian Christmas cards and performing in two musical shows and a soloist concert.
Pupils from reception to year 1 performed a production of Ffinlo, the story of a clown who has lost his red nose, while nursery children presented a modern adaptation of the Nativity story, called Bus to Bethlehem.
More than 40 pupils also entertained parents and staff with their violins, pianos and guitars at the school’s annual Christmas soloist concert.
Gill Hope, headteacher at the school in Milbourne Lane, said: “The demand for additional music lessons this term has been unprecedented, with a number of very young children learning more than one instrument and two children from our nursery students starting violin lessons.”
