The Mayor of Richmond, Councillor Celia Hodges, will be at the Twickenham Museum (25 The Embankment, Twickenham) at noon tomorrow to open the new exhibition, Down by the Riverside. The exhibition features displays on all aspects of the Thames and the riverside, including boat building, regattas and locks, and there is also a special look at five centuries of the Hampton Ferry. In a tribute to the fantastic music history of Eel Pie Island, the museum’s first floor window space will be used to provide a view of the museum’s once wild neighbour from across the water. As well as tributes to the island in words and pictures there will also be a painting of the late local music legend, Art Wood, on display alongside Eel Pie island curiosities, including an original ‘Eelpiland’ passport. The museum is open Tuesdays and Saturdays, 11am-3pm and Sundays, 2pm-4pm. Admission is free. Visit twickenham-museum.org.uk
