The UK's best alternative act, a group of rockers from Sutton and a post-electro rock outfit will all be taking to the stage at the Halfmoon this Saturday, raising money for a woman's working co-operative.
Headline act Suzerain won the prestigious Indy Award for best UK alternate act in 2007 and since then have wowed crowds throughout the capital, playing the O2 Wireless Festival in Hyde Park last summer and the Indigo2 back in February.
They have also headlined to more than 2,000 people at the Angra Rock Festival in the Azores, released a five-track EP entitled Apocalypse Disco and are currently putting the finishing touches to their debut album with producer Steve Lyon, who has worked with Depeche Mode and The Cure.
Sutton band The Blow Ups are also on the bill having enjoyed great success of late, both in the capital and outside it.
Not only have they played at popular London venues The Borderline, Café de Paris and The Clapham Grand, they've also performed at a major festival in Istanbul, where they were invited to return next year.
Completing the line-up are three-piece band Scarlet Blonde, who have just finished recording their new album, Acerbic...a Loose Concept.
"It can be about something, but we aren't sure what," said founder member Dawn Firth about the new album’s title.
"We'd rather people tell us what it’s about than preach.
"We just realised that lyrically, it could, loosely, fit together into a story."
The whole evening is in aid of the Who Made Your Pants charity, a workers co-operative based in Southampton which aims to empower marginalised women by providing flexible employment, education and a social and community space.
Suzerain, Scarlet Blonde and The Blow Up's, The Halfmoon, Lower Richmond Road, May 23, 8.30pm, £6 (£5 adv). Call 020 8780 9383 or visit halfmoon.co.uk.
